TANF/SNAP Budgets
To access the latest version of the
TANF/SNAP Worksheet, RIGHT click the link below and
click on "Save Target As". You can then save it onto your
computer by choosing the location to save your file. Click
SAVE.
TANF Budget Version 4
**This budget is effective March 1,
2004.**
Instructions:
The stepparent/minor parent income calculation was corrected to
count the entire unearned income (the previous spreadsheet
deducted the standard work expense from unearned income in this
section). This spreadsheet is used to determine a TANF benefit
for the Food Stamp Program. Only the yellow shaded areas may be
filled in. Use the mouse and click on each yellow area or use
the rrows to move around the worksheet. Print the individual
worksheets for the case file. Do not save the information
entered on the worksheet when closing Excel. Complete the
worksheet as follows:
Income Determination for the TANF Household
1. Enter the number of eligible caretakers. You will receive an
error message if more than two caretakers is entered.
2. Enter the number of eligible children.
3. On line (1) enter the gross earned income not including the
step/minor parents income.
4. On line (3a) enter the TLP (Time Limited Percentage) month of
the employed TANF recipient. The system will calculate the Time
Limited Percentage (TLP) amount.
5. On line (5) enter the unearned income.
6. On line (7) enter the amount of child care or adult care
expenses. This must be entered as a negative number. If it is
not entered as a negative number, you will receive an error
message in red.
7. On line (10) enter the benefit cap deduction if applicable.
This must be entered as a negative number.
8. On line (15) enter overpayments if applicable. This must be
entered as a negative number.
Step/Minor Parent Income Calculation
1. On the Step/Minor Parent Income Calculation enter the number
of ineligible caretaker(s).
2. Enter the number of ineligible children
3. Enter the gross income of the stepparent or minor parent on
line 1.
4. On line 3a enter the TLP (Time Limited Percentage) month of
the employed TANF recipient. The system will calculate the Time
Limited Percentage (TLP) amount.
5. Enter the non-household member deductions on line 4 as a
negative number if applicable.
6. Enter unearned income on line 5.
This information is automatically added to line (4) under
adjusted countable earned income.
