1. Go to your FASCES Master Menu and type an “A” (General Inquiry) in the Option blank. Press Enter.

2. Type a “B” ("Inquire by SSN") in the Option blank. Press Enter.

3. Type the SSN and type a "c" (for cases). Press Enter.

4. This will bring up a listing of the cases involving this person. If you look at the far right column, there should be an indicator showing this as "A" for active case.

5. Put an "x" in the left column beside the active case. Press Enter.

6. This brings you to the "Case Inquiry" screen----put an "x" in the "Inquire" field beside the person you are inquiring on (if one of the parents, this is on the upper right of the screen, if one of the children, it is on the left side of the center of the screen). Press Enter.

7. This brings you to the "AR Inquiry Screen", "AP Inquiry Screen", or "Child Inquiry Screen" (whichever one you are inquiring on)

Please note: unemployment information is obtained from Job Service on absent parents in open IV-D cases only. If you inquire on an AR or a child in a case, unemployment information will not be recorded unless that individual is also an absent parent in an open IV-D case. Lack of available information does not necessarily mean that no unemployment benefits are being paid. FACSES displays new information received from Job Service on Thursday each week.

8. Tab down to the "unemployment info" field and type a "v". Press Enter.

9. This brings you to the Unemployment list screen. Tab down and select the most current
unemployment information. (FACSES always displays the most current information first.) Enter an "I". Press Enter.

**Thank you to Terry Peterson of Child Support and Steve Starr from Rolette County!!
